What your business gets

Every sale is paid and fiscally compliant at the counter or the door, and you release no supplier payment until its documents are checked.

Where the transaction happens

A sale is only finished when it is paid for and fiscally compliant. In many businesses those two steps happen in different systems: a mobile money handset beside the till, a fiscal device on the counter, and an ERP that records both later. Predictiv puts payment and fiscalisation inside the selling flow, at the till in the store and at the door from the van.

Mobile payments in the sale

Customers can pay by mobile payment such as EcoCash as part of the sale. The cashier or driver selects the tender, the payment is taken, and Predictiv records it against that tender. Predictiv records the payment on the sale and posts it to the ledger with the sale.

More than one currency, as normal

Businesses in Zimbabwe trade in US dollars and ZWG side by side, and customers often pay with more than one tender. Predictiv treats this as normal operation. A single sale can be tendered in US dollars, ZWG and mobile payment together. Predictiv calculates totals and change per currency on the till, and the receipt shows what was paid in each.

At cash-up, the cashier or driver declares the cash before seeing the expected figure. Predictiv derives the variance per tender and per currency. Nobody keys a variance, and Predictiv sends a variance above your threshold to a named approver who cannot be the person who declared it.

Fiscalised on the device

Each receipt is fiscalised on the device at the moment of sale. The fiscal details are printed on the receipt the customer takes away. Fiscalisation works offline as well as online, so staff in a store or a van with no network keep trading within the rules.

Predictiv supports fiscalisation for the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA). Fiscal configuration is part of the platform, not an add-on, so you print a compliant receipt from the same till in a store, a kiosk or a van.

Supplier payments checked before release

Money going out needs control as much as money coming in. Before a supplier payment is released, Predictiv extracts the details from its supporting documents and checks:

  • that the pack is complete
  • the three-way match between order, receipt and invoice
  • the supplier’s fiscal invoice against the tax authority’s system
  • tax compliance
  • that the bank details are consistent with the supplier’s record
  • that it is not a duplicate
  • that the approvals are in place

It then recommends release, hold or review, and a person decides. This is accounts-payable control. Predictiv does not process the payment itself. It checks that the payment should be made. See finance for the wider set of controls.

What makes it different

Payment, fiscalisation and the ERP are usually three products joined by interfaces, and each join is a place for a receipt or a tender to go missing. In Predictiv the tender, the fiscal receipt and the ledger entry are recorded on the same sale record. Predictiv runs supplier payment checks on the same record as the purchase order and the receipt, so nothing is re-entered to be checked.

Connected to the rest of the platform

Payments and fiscalisation run inside point of sale and direct store delivery. You can use them without a network, as described under mobile and offline. Predictiv posts tenders and tax to finance, and checks supplier payments against procurement records.
