Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to the questions we hear most often from businesses evaluating Predictiv.
Technical Questions
Predictiv is built on enterprise-grade open source technologies: Java 11 for the backend, PostgreSQL 16 for the database, React Native for mobile apps, and a JavaScript/SmartClient UI for the web application. This stack ensures no vendor lock-in and access to a large talent pool for customisation.
Predictiv offers comprehensive integration capabilities including RESTful APIs, webhooks for real-time events, scheduled data synchronisation, and support for common formats (JSON, XML, CSV). We integrate with popular platforms including Power BI, banking systems, and e-commerce platforms. Custom integrations can be developed for specific requirements.
We support multiple migration approaches: automated data import tools for common ERP systems (SAP, Dynamics, Sage), spreadsheet-based migration for simpler scenarios, and custom migration scripts for complex data transformations. A typical migration follows our proven methodology: data mapping, validation, test migration, and parallel running before go-live.
Our mobile application is built offline-first. Sales representatives, warehouse staff, and field workers can continue working without connectivity. Data synchronises automatically when a connection is restored. Conflict resolution is handled intelligently based on configurable business rules.
Yes. Predictiv natively supports multi-currency with real-time exchange rate updates, automatic currency revaluation, and multi-currency reporting. You can transact in any currency while maintaining books in your functional currencies.
Commercial Questions
Pricing is based on user type. ERP Users (full platform access for finance and operations teams) are $49/month SaaS or $39/month self-hosted. Mobile Users (van sales, POS, field operations) are $29/month SaaS or $19/month self-hosted. BI Users (reporting and dashboards only) are $19/month SaaS or $15/month self-hosted. Annual billing saves 15%.
Standard support includes business hours assistance (8am-5pm CAT), email and phone support, access to our knowledge base, and regular system updates. Premium support adds 24/7 coverage, dedicated account management, priority response times, and proactive monitoring.
We offer flexible terms: annual contracts with monthly payment options, or multi-year agreements with additional discounts. There are no long-term lock-ins required. We're confident you'll stay because of value, not contractual obligation.
We accept various payment methods including bank transfer, credit card, and mobile money (EcoCash, OneMoney) for local transactions. Invoicing is available in USD, ZAR, or local currencies depending on your region.
Implementation Questions
Implementation timelines depend on scope and complexity. A focused implementation (core financials, inventory, sales) typically takes 4-8 weeks. A comprehensive implementation including manufacturing, HR, and custom workflows takes 8-16 weeks. Complex multi-site or multi-country deployments may take 16-24 weeks.
A successful implementation requires: a project sponsor (typically CFO or Operations Director), a project manager (can be part-time), subject matter experts for each module area (finance, warehouse, etc.), and IT resource for technical setup and integrations. We provide training to reduce dependency on specialised skills.
Implementation includes comprehensive training: end-user training for each module, administrator training for system configuration, super-user training for advanced capabilities, and train-the-trainer sessions for ongoing knowledge transfer. Training is delivered through a combination of on-site, virtual, and self-paced learning.
Absolutely. Phased rollouts are often recommended. A common approach: Phase 1 covers core financials and inventory; Phase 2 adds sales and CRM; Phase 3 includes manufacturing or HR. This allows teams to build confidence and realise value quickly before expanding scope.
Security & Compliance Questions
For SaaS deployments, data is hosted in secure, certified data centres. We offer hosting in multiple regions including South Africa. For organisations with specific data residency requirements, we offer self-hosted and private cloud options where you control exactly where data resides.
Predictiv supports compliance with major frameworks including POPIA (South Africa), GDPR (EU), and SOX (for US-listed entities). We're actively working toward SOC 2 Type II certification. Our platform includes comprehensive audit trails, access controls, and data protection features required for regulatory compliance.
Data is encrypted both in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Database connections are secured, API communications are encrypted, and sensitive fields (passwords, API keys) use additional encryption layers. Key management follows industry best practices.
We understand data sovereignty is critical for many organisations. Self-hosted and private cloud options give you complete control over data location. For SaaS customers, we can commit to keeping data within specific geographic regions and provide contractual data residency guarantees.
